Saleem bought a car for Rs. 875,000 and paid 16% as a tax. How much tax did he pay?

Given:

Price of the car = Rs. 875,000 

Tax Rate = 16% 

To Find:

General Sales Tax (GST) =? 

Solution:

The General Formula for General Sale Tax (GST) is

 

General Sales Tax (GST) = 16% of Rs.875,000

General Sales Tax (GST) =`{\frac16{100}}` x Rs. 875,000

General Sales Tax (GST) = Rs.140,000

Thus, an amount of Rs.140,000 GST will be paid by the buyer on buying the car worth Rs.875,000 at a rate of 16 %.
