To find the number of urban student when Total number of students and % of rural area students are given (WP-14: Percentage %)

The number if students in a school is 1200. If 65% students belong to rural areas, then find the number of urban students   (Ans. 420 students)

Given Data:

Total number of students = 1200

Percentage of rural area students  = 65 % 

To Find:

Students of urban area = ?

Solution:

Rural area students  = 65% of 1200 

Rural area students  = `\frac {65}{100}`ｘ 1200

Rural area students  = 780 

Students of urban area = Total number of students - Rural area students

Students of urban area = 1200 - 780

Students of urban area = 420 --------------Ans.
