If 37% of a number is 370 then find the number.

or

37% of what number is 370 ?

(Ans. 1000)

Solution:

Let the number is X

then as given

37% of X = 370

`\frac {37}{100}` ｘ X  = 370

or

X  = `\frac {100}{37}` ｘ 370

X  = 1000 -----------Ans.
