To find discount percent when Marked price and Sale price are known (Problem-5: Discount)

Q. A bicycle is sold for Rs. 3500 having marked price Rs. 3600. Find discount percent. 

Given:

S.P = Rs. 3500

M.P = Rs. 3600 

 

To Find:

Discount % = ?

Solution: 

Discount = Marked price - Sale price

Discount = Rs. 3600  - Rs. 3500 

Discount = Rs. 100 ------------Ans.

Since 

Discount % = `frac {Rs. 100}{Rs. 3600}times 100` 

Discount %  = 2.78 % -----------Ans.
