To find discount when Marked price and Sale price are known (Problem-6: Discount)

Q. An item is sold for Rs. 1800 at a discount of Rs. 200. Find its marked price and discount percent. 

Given: 

S.P = Rs. 1800 

Discount = Rs. 200 

To Find:

M.P = ?

Discount % = ?

Solution:

Since

M.P = Sale price + Discount

C.P = Rs. 1800  + Rs. 200 

M.P  = Rs. 2000 ------------Ans.1

As

Discount % = `frac {Rs. 200}{Rs. 2000}times 100` 

Discount %  = 10 % -----------Ans.2
