To find the owner amount when commission percentage and sale price are known (WP No.1: Commission) --

An agent charges 3% commission on selling goods. If the goods are sold for RS. 3775. Calculate the amount that owner will get.  (Ans. Rs. 3661.75)


Given Data:

Sale price Rs. 3775

Commission  = 3 % 


To Find:

Owner will get = ?


Solution:



We will find first the commission of the goods.

Commission = 3% of Rs. 3775 =  `\frac {3}{100}` x Rs. 3775

Discount = Rs. 113.25




Owner will get = Sale price - Commission

Sale Price = Rs. 3375 - Rs. 113.25

Sale Price = Rs. 3661.75  ------------Ans.
