To find the sale price of shoes when discount percentage and marked price are known (WP-8: Percentage %)

The price of shoes is Rs. 95. If the shop keeper gives 10% discount then what will be the sale price of the shoes.  (Ans. Rs. 85.50)


Given:

Price (marked) of the shoes Rs. 95

Discount  = 10 % 


To Find:

Sale Price = ?


Solution:


Price (marked) of the shoes Rs. 95

10% Discount on Rs. 95 =  `\frac {10}{100}` x Rs. 95

Discount = Rs. 9.50


Now

Sale Price = Marked price - discount

Sale Price = Rs. 95 - Rs. 9.50

Sale Price = Rs. 85.50  ------------Ans.
