To find Sale price when Marked price and discount percent are known (Problem-11: Discount)

Q. Marked price of an item is Rs. 2000. It is sold at a discount of 15%. Find the sale price.

Given: 

M.P = Rs. 2000 

Discount = 15%

To Find:

S.P = ?

Solution:

We will determined the discount first. Since discount is determined on marked price, therefore

Discount = 15 % of Marked price 

Discount = `frac {15}{100}times Rs. 2000`  = Rs.300 

Now 

Sale price = Marked price - Discount

Sale price = Rs. 2000  - Rs. 300 

Sale price = Rs. 1700 ------------Ans.
