To find Sale price when Marked price and discount percent are known (Problem-3: Discount)

Q. The marked price of a fan is Rs. 1400. Find its sale price if discount is 10%.

Given: 

M.P = Rs. 1400 

Discount = 10%

To Find:

S.P = ?

Solution:

We will determined the discount first. Since discount is determined on marked price, therefore

Discount = 10 % of Marked price 

Discount = `frac {10}{100}times Rs. 1400`  = Rs.140 

Now 

Sale price = Marked price - Discount

Sale price = Rs. 1400  - Rs. 140 

Sale price = Rs. 1260 ------------Ans.
